SUMMARY:Heart of the Healer | Yoga Body Elements
DESCRIPTION:Who cares for the healer?\n\nThrough storytelling\, reflection\, gentle movement\, ancestral knowledge\, and traditional bodywork practices\, participants are invited to explore reciprocity\, grounding\, nourishment\, and the importance of allowing ourselves to receive care.\n\nOne of the elements shared will be manteadas\, often described as Mother Earth's Apapacho\, a traditional practice that offers a feeling of being held\, supported\, and gently gathered back into ourselves.\n\nParticipants are encouraged to bring 1 5 rebozos (scarves). Having multiple rebozos allows participants to participate more fully in some of the experiential exercises. No one needs to purchase a rebozo specifically for the workshop.\n\n \nMeet guest lead Ketzal Cihuatl Diana\n\nA spiritual woman\, Mexican dancer\, and student and practitioner of Traditional Mexican Medicine. Her path has been shaped by a lifelong connection to ancestral knowledge\, ceremony\,\n\nhealing\, song\, and the responsibility of learning from those who came before her.\n\nDiana began her journey as a Mexican dancer at the age of 23. Over the years\, she has had the privilege of\n\nlearning from teachers\, elders\, and practitioners who have contributed to her understanding of the Mexican\n\nway of life. Among those who have influenced her path are Cuauht moc "Temok" Mosqueda Garc a\,\n\nEstrella Newman\, Guillermo Jaimes Gonz lez Soto\, Claudia Bravo\, Alfonso in Michigan\, Susana\,\n\nand Ambrosio.\n\nShe has also had the honor of participating in ceremony with Abuelo Tlaca lel of Teotihuacan and\n\nMary Brave Bird\, a Lakota woman and respected spiritual leader. Her relationship with song has\n\nbeen another important part of her journey\, including learning traditional songs with Uncle Ram n Cruz\n\nfrom Pilsen\, connecting her ancestral learning with the community that helped shape her in Chicago.\n\nDiana is a Sacred Fire Keeper under the word and guidance of Cuauht moc "Temok" Mosqueda\n\nGarc a. Through danza\, ceremony\, sacred fire\, song\, and her relationship with the natural world\, she\n\ncontinues to deepen her spiritual path and her understanding of ancestral ways of life.\n\nHer connection to healing also reaches into her family history.\n\nMore recently\, Diana has been deepening her studies in Traditional Mexican Medicine in Cuernavaca\n\nand Tepoztl n\, Morelos\, learning from practitioners who continue to preserve and practice these living\n\ntraditions. Her studies and experience include traditional bodywork\, manteadas\, massage\, cupping\,\n\nherbal medicine and tinctures\, and other traditional approaches to wellness.
