DESCRIPTION:Join us for a member's access pre-show reception at 6:30 PM on Friday\, March 22nd at Black Ensemble Theater at 4450 N. Staff and current members will be available to discuss how the Uptown Chamber can provide support and resources for businesses at any stage of the game. Those interested in learning more about the chamber are encouraged to attend. \n\n \n\nThe pre-show reception includes drinks and a spread of heavy apps from Chicago Flavas plus a ticket to the 8:00 PM performance of THE TIME MACHINE that evening.\n\n \n\nThis event is made possible through generous contributions from Black Ensemble Theater and Wintrust Community Banks. These community partners make it possible for the chamber to offer access to this engagement for $18.00 to the first 50 individuals who register. There is a maximum number of two registrants per business. A leader and innovator in the African-American and mainstream arts communities\, Black Ensemble Theater is recognized as one of the most diverse theaters in the country\, producing excellent musical theater. On November 18\, 2011\, BE celebrated the Grand Opening of the Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center\, the theater's first permanent home located at 4450 N. Clark Street\, in the heart of Chicago's Uptown neighborhood.\n\nThe mission of the Black Ensemble Theater is to eradicate racism and its damaging effects upon our society through the utilization of theater arts. BE is the only theater in the nation whose mission is to eradicate racism. We utilize theater and educational outreach programs to bring races together in a community which embraces similarities and fosters dialogue\, understanding and acceptance.\n\nWintrust Community Banks provide customer-oriented\, personal and commercial banking services to communities in and around Chicago\, southern Wisconsin and northwest Indiana. Wintrust banks go above and beyond banking solutions to be real assets to the communities served. Wintrust Uptown hosts financial education courses\, holds community events\, and throws neighborhood cookouts (like this event!). Wintrust believes in supporting local communities by sitting on local boards\, getting involved with local organizations\, and sponsoring local events.
