Uptown is a nexus of diversity along the north shore of Chicago where black entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and artists succeed and thrive in business. The Uptown Chamber of Commerce welcomes all member and nonmember business reps of all cultural backgrounds to join us to celebrate black business success in Uptown on Wednesday evening, February 25th from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM at Bodi Shak, 4609 N. Clark Street.
Business owner Antonio Coke is the founder of Bodi Shak, a health and fitness studio that emphasizes one-on-one personal training and group fitness classes. What sets Bodi Shak apart from other gyms is the community and the incredible team of coaches who bring the space to life every day.
Bodi Shak's foundation is group fitness and community, supported by personal training and open gym access — all designed to be inclusive and accessible.
Members of Bodi Shak all rave about their fitness experience. It's this kind of client satisfaction that has made Bodi Shak the #2 gym citywide in Chicago Readers annual "best of" list. Part of their satisfaction comes from a technique Toni has developed to support his fitness community called THRIVE. This technique helps individuals develop their ability to focus on their goals and envision their success. Attendees of Black Owned Business Networking will be led on a fifteen minute facilitated mental journey using THRIVE. This is a visioning exercise and is safe for people of all abilities.
Attendees can expect a spread of fare from neighboring business La Mexicana Grill plus NA and THC refreshments from local retailer Rayan's Fine Wine & Spirits. We'll be using the registration list to order food and beverages, so be sure to certify your attendance by registering.
