How does trauma shape our relationship with food and our bodies? Join us for an engaging and insightful Book Talk on March 25, 2025, at 6:00pm CST, held virtually via Zoom.
Hosted by Bellamy & Associates and Malak Saddy Nutrition, this donation-based/pay-what-you-can event will use Jennette McCurdy’s award-winning memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died, as a lens to explore the deep connection between trauma and disordered eating.
Facilitators:
Malak and Casey will delve into key themes from McCurdy’s memoir, including how childhood trauma, family dynamics, and societal pressures can influence eating behaviors and body image. This discussion isn’t just about the book—it’s about creating a space to reflect on how trauma impacts our lives and the paths toward healing.
What to Expect:
No familiarity with the memoir is required to attend—you’re welcome to join, listen, and learn whether or not you’ve read the book.
