This engagement focuses on the nonprofit workforce in Uptown and will work with attendees to identify critical steps to ensure your board members are informed, engaged, and energized to help execute on your organization's mission.  
Afterwards we’ll take our leave of the library and head across the street to Bar on Buena for casual connections and networking. 
 
Jerome’ R. Holston is the owner and founder of J.R. Holston Consulting, a firm specializing in supporting nonprofits and small business to create social impact. Jerome’ has more than ten years of experience in working with nonprofit, government, and private businesses to advance board participation, community and employee engagement, fundraising, and strategic partnerships.

Jerome's professional experience includes: 
• Campaign Manager, The Chicago Community Trust
• Executive Director, LGBT Chamber of Commerce of Illinois
• Associate Director, CCS
• Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of Governor Pat Quinn

Jerome’ has been recognized as a Certified Nonprofit Board Consultant by BoardSource, and has a Masters of Public Administration and Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Illinois at Springfield. Jerome’ is a Co-Chair for the AFP Chicago LGBTQ+ Affinity Group, and is a Board Member for YNPN Chicago. Jerome’ has been recognized by Crain’s Chicago as a 2020 Notable LGBTQ+ Executive, and a 2020 40 Under 40 Game Changer by Ariel Investments and WVON. 
Jerome’ is a native of Gadsden, AL and is a proud graduate of Alabama State University.
