Kuumba Lynx Arts & Healing Center Ribbon Cutting and Open House -- ARTS AND HEALING SUMMER CAMP ANNOUNCED

On Saturday, May 17th, at 2pm sharp, Kuumba Lynx (KL) and its beloved community of family, friends, mentees, alum, board, and stakeholders welcome you to circle up in honor of their ribbon cutting ceremony for the soft opening of the new Kuumba Lynx arts & healing studio space located at 4755 N. Sheridan Road in Uptown.
Kuumba Lynx, Chicago’s 1st, all women led Hip-Hop edutainment NFP est. in 1996, will open its doors for public programming after over two decades of operations at Uptown’s Clarendon Park. Centered in her-story and commitment to empower marginalized youth communities, this collective of artists, healers, educators, and activists intend to publicly share their transformational cultural practices with an anchored vision to reflect a world where arts and healing is synonymous with local community building and justice. KL will kick off with a summer arts & healing camp for elementary school aged youth ages 7-12.
An open house for parents and children will take place on Sunday, May 18th from 10am-2pm. Meet the founders, take mini-workshops and register on site. Soft launch activities will include on-going dance & yoga classes and weekend wellness events curated by KL founders. Near future offerings will include mindfulness & meditation, dance wellness, transformative and restorative justice circles, reiki healing, and somatic breath & body work practice.
